Two Trailblazing Partners Join DaHui: Kevin Liu and Wayne Wang

by Lily Jiang

DaHui is excited to welcome two distinguished new partners to our growing firm. Kevin Liu joins our Shanghai office, strengthening our capital markets group with his decade of experience in the field, and Wayne Wang joins our Wuhan office, bringing seven years of in-house counsel expertise to our corporate practice group.

Kevin Liu

Partner, Capital Markets Team – Shanghai Office

Kevin Liu joins DaHui Lawyers as a Partner in our Shanghai office’s capital markets team, with a decade of experience specializing in complex securities offerings, listings, mergers and acquisitions, and other capital market transactions. His diverse background spans sectors such as advanced semiconductor manufacturing, new energy, and healthcare and life sciences. Kevin has also advised leading investment institutions on private equity and post-investment management.

Before joining DaHui, Kevin practiced at Fangda Partners for more than seven years, three of which were as a counsel. Before that, Kevin worked at King & Wood Mallesons for two years. He is renowned for his impressive track record in major capital market restructurings, including advising a medical device company on its record-setting IPO on the ChiNext market. He also represented investors in their strategic investment in a multi-billion-dollar bankruptcy reorganization of a major Chinese tech conglomerate. Kevin guides companies through the entire capital cycle, from startup through IPO to A-share market entry, and he has pioneered legal strategies for prominent Chinese companies to exit offshore stock markets and relist on China’s A-share markets via interim privatization. Many overseas-listed Chinese firms seeking to return to the A-share market have adopted this innovative approach.

With his extensive regional network ties in Shanghai, Shenzhen, and beyond, and experience in outbound business transactions, Kevin enhances the Firm’s ability to serve both domestic and international clients and deliver cross-disciplinary, multi-jurisdictional, and comprehensive services to capital markets clients globally.

Kevin holds an LL.M. from the University of California, Berkeley, as well as both master’s and bachelor’s degrees in law from Southwest University of Political Science and Law. Kevin is passionate about traveling and immersing himself in the great outdoors, and outside of the office, you can find him exploring new hiking trails, (responsibly) setting up campfires, or planning his next adventure.

Zhouwei (Wayne) Wang

Partner, Corporate Team – Wuhan Office

Wayne Wang enters DaHui Lawyers as a Partner in our Wuhan office’s corporate team, bringing a wealth of experience across diverse sectors, including automotive, cloud and AI, semiconductor, ICTs, sports, media, and other industries. His practice focuses on compliance, data and cybersecurity, employment law, trade secrets, and general corporate matters.

Prior to joining DaHui, Wayne served as in-house counsel for a leading ICT company for over three years and previously worked for a prominent multinational automotive company. His extensive in-house experience gave him deep insights into bringing innovative product lines and new business models to market, and his strategic approach and keen understanding of industry trends helps him deal with major market players and their complex legal issues. Some of Wayne’s notable achievements include leading a multi-million-dollar trade secret crime prosecution, participating in negotiations with key semiconductor suppliers, and securing sponsorship contracts and other contracts in China for the 2019 FIBA World Cup in China.

Originally from Wuhan, Wayne’s deep connections to the region, both professionally and personally, uniquely positions him to lead our regional and cross-border initiatives from the hub we opened there in 2023. His extensive experience with Wuhan-based companies and understanding of industry-specific challenges make him a key asset in the Firm.

Wayne holds an LL.M. from National Taiwan University, an LL.B. from Wuhan University, and a Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E) certification. In his spare time, Wayne enjoys building model figures and experimenting with creative engineering projects.
