DaHui Grows International Trade and DR Practices with Lateral Partner Joining of Yi Dai

DaHui is pleased to announce that Yi Dai has joined the Firm as a partner in our international trade and dispute resolution practice groups. He brings to DaHui broad and deep experience in contentious and non-contentious shipping, commodities, energy and other international trade matters as well as international commercial arbitration, enforcement of arbitral awards, etc. As international transactions are right in DaHui’s wheelhouse, and our international arbitration group is led by renowned dispute resolution star Arthur Ma, Yi is a most welcome addition that will fit right in at the Firm.

Yi boasts an extensive international background, obtaining an LL.M. with distinction in England, and training at Singaporean and English firms, before building his practice at specialist PRC firm Wang Jing & Co. At the same time, he has long litigated across the maritime and appeals courts of the PRC as well as acting as counsel in arbitration and mediation at CMAC, CIETAC, HKIAC, SIAC, SCMA, LMAA, etc. Yi primarily serves clients in the shipping, commodities, energy and related industries, both to assist in structuring, negotiating and carrying out transactions and to resolve maritime and commercial disputes. He is also frequently consulted by banks and financial leasing companies for asset (ship) finance matters and mortgage enforcement.

In addition to Yi, DaHui welcomed another six new partners in 2022: Lucy Lu (M&A and PE), Zhengwei Yang (DR, employment and compliance), Greg Guo (capital markets), Jiawen Gong (capital markets and M&A), Richard Qiang (M&A) and Reking Chen (IP and franchising). In other words, DaHui grew by almost 100 years of combined top-quality legal practice in 2022.
